Women probably know about YAZ. The oral contraceptive drug is used by numerous women on a regular basis, as they are trying to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Unfortunately, the Food and Drug Administration is now trying to attract the attention upon the increased YAZ blood clot risk. There have been numerous warnings issued by the Food and Drug Administration regarding these oral contraceptives as result of the assumption that there are too many risks associated with the use of this drug. The last warning even characterized the drug as being a high risk one and it is now listed as a drug that should be removed from the market. YAZ has been associated with vascular problems, hyperkalemia, neoplastia, carcinoma of breasts, carcinoma of reproductive organs and high blood pressure. The drug does not lead to all these conditions, but it increases the risks of their development. The conclusion is that it is dangerous, so women should stop taking it.
