School Bus Safety

Parents of school children may want to know if school buses are safe. Statistically, they are, and studies have shown that children who ride in school buses are about eight times safer than those who ride in private vehicles with their parents. However, it still would be beneficial for parents to make sure their children’s school bus comply with safety requirements, including compartmentalization for large buses and seat belts for small buses. School buses also have to require children to be seated while on the seating area, and school bus drivers are tasked to ensure that this is followed closely.
